Hope Mills enjoys an abundance of natural resources, a warm year round climate, and public safety fire and police departments that embellish our high quality of life. Our local high school is recognized yearly for having the best overall athletic program in the county and South View High School has won state championships in six different sports – golf, baseball, football, basketball, softball, and cross country. In addition, South View offers the finest in academics with an International Baccalaureate Academy and it has one of the largest cultural arts programs in the state. Our Parks and Recreation programs are second to none. We have activities for the young and the young at heart. The Hope Mills Youth Association is one of the largest such organizations in North Carolina and we have three active senior citizen centers. Our youth All-Star baseball team recently won the state and world championship in the Dixie Youth Majors Program. Our town is family focused with a number of great annual events. On the 4 th of July, we celebrate our independence with a parade, activities and fireworks. Ole Mills Days, the fall celebration of our heritage as a former cotton mill village, is held in October. In December, we have an annual Christmas Parade and a Festival of Lights Celebration in honor of the holidays. Our Town Board and our Town Staff are working hard to continue to improve on our reputation as an attractive and progressive community. If you are a resident, or if you are considering becoming one, I would encourage you to take part in all our town has to offer. Please stop by and visit. I will be happy to talk with you and try to answer any questions you might have. You are also invited to reach me via telephone or e-mail. Again, welcome. Hope Mills has an unlimited potential as we enter a new and exciting time in our changing development. It is truly a place where families live and grow.
